Timeless Vision
In 1928, English entrepreneur Frederick Henry Dumas Man sought to create a Cape Town residence that blended European elegance with Cape heritage. His vision gave rise to a home that remains an expression of refined living.
A Pioneering Architect
Magdalena Gertrude Sauer was one of South Africa’s first female architects. Born in Kenilworth in 1890 and raised between the city and her family’s Stellenbosch farm, Magda developed a nuanced understanding of space, heritage and environment.
Her work on this property reflects a rare balance of strength and sensitivity, blending historical reference with elegant innovation. Her legacy lives on in The Claremont.
